Single-serving Menu Offerings
The first choice from the "Anew in the Spirit" menu
was the Antique Road Show-Wheeler Style on Sun., Oct.
17. After a scrumptious luncheon, prepared by Jan and Tony Peterson,
with assistance from Andria Jamison, John Wheeler had the occupants
of each table try to answer questions about antique items he
placed on each table. John then spoke about various items brought
in by those in attendance, telling the history and dating each
item.
The second menu offering, a one-hour
class entitled "David-Lite" taught by Cynthia Martin,
was held in the Yoder room Sun., Oct. 31 for persons interested
in learning about this unusual figure in the Old Testament, who
rose from a shepherd boy to become the greatest of all the kings
of Israel.
The third menu offering, another
one-hour class entitled "How to Enhance the Celebration
of Christian Holidays in the Family," was held on Sunday,
Nov. 28, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Taught by Catherine Day, the class
will help parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents think
about ways to make the holidays meaningful for themselves and
their family members.
"Anew in the Spirit"
menu items are being sponsored by the Membership Development
and Nurture Commission.
Prayer Room
The special emphasis
on praying for peace continues in the Prayer Room: peace in our
world, our nation, our neighborhoods, our families. Members and
friends of Epworth-Euclid are encouraged to come to the Prayer
Room for a focused meditation time on the subject of peace as
our nation continues to be at war.
In addition, a scrapbook is available for anyone to share a favorite
Bible passage on peace.
