In order to save postage the Church Office is asking that all members and friends of Epworth Euclid submit their personal e-mails addresses to the office: staff@epworth-euclid.org. Then all pertinent meeting notices will be sent directly to you through your e-mail, saving the church funds which can then be better used for the missions of the church.

High School and College
Graduates Sought

It is our intention to honor those from Epworth-Euclid Church, who are graduating from high school, college or graduate school during morning worship on a Sunday in May. This includes those who have made Epworth-Euclid Church their church home while attending college in thearea. We need to have our graduates pick up a “Graduate Information Sheet” in the church office, fill it out, and return it to the church office no later than Sunday, April 27. Please help us gather the information necessary to appropriately honor our graduates. Thank you for your prompt attention to this request.

Martins to Host
European Tour in 2010

Pastor Chris and Cynthia Martin will host a tour to Europe in July 2010, which will include Italy, Switzerland, and the Bavarian Alps (including a performance of the Passion Play in the village of Oberammergau). See the “Crown Jewels” of Italy…eternal Rome, center of art and history…Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance…Venice, one of the most unique and beautiful cities in the world…travel north through the Alps to Munich…then the highlight, the Passion Play of Oberammergau, ending with a visit to lovely Lucerne, an area of spectacular natural beauty.

The Martins have contracted with Nawas International Travel to provide assistance, travel arrangements and accommodations, along with the most knowledgeable guide in the travel industry for this 12-day European excursion. Pastor and Mrs. Martin have traveled across the oceans 16 times with Nawas International Travel and cannot say enough about this remarkable international travel agency. Nawas is a first class operation in every way, having provided tours for thousands of travelers for almost sixty years in the travel industry. A full-color travel brochure for this trip is being prepared and will be available soon. Pastor and Mrs. Martin intend to limit this trip to the first 24 passengers that register, making it a small enough group to assure the finest in accommodations and dining arrangements. While 2010 seems a long way away, NOW is the best time to make your travel plans. This will be a memorable tour, one that you will talk about for the rest of your life. Watch for additional details in the Outlook and in other promotional mailings from the church. If you have questions about the trip, please direct them to Pastor Martin.

Epworth-Euclid to Participate in Parade the Circle Village

Once again this year, Epworth-Euclid Church will have a craft activity tent in the Parade the
Circle village on Saturday, June 14. Cosponsored by the Cleveland Museum of Art and University Circle Incorporated, Parade the Circle is a spectacular day full of activities and events around Wade Oval. The most exciting event of the day is the parade itself that begins at noon. The theme of this year’s parade is “Skipping the Muse, Running the Fiddle,” and will be carried out by some of the most uniquely designed artistic floats, characters, puppets, stilt-walkers, you name it, and if it’s “artistic,” it will undoubtedly find expression at some point in the parade.

This year’s interactive craft activity for children at the Epworth-Euclid Church tent will follow the theme of the “Mad Hatters’ Workshop.” Children will be able to join in the Parade the Circle village activities wearing their own hat creation. Using hat forms, children will fashion their own broad-brimmed hats from extra large sheets of decorative paper. Their colorful pre-shaped hats will then be banded and young ones can add their own decorations to be able to parade the circle village and watch the parade in style.

The village craft tent will be open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. We need workers to work in two hour shifts (10 a.m. until noon, noon until 2 p.m., and 2 p.m. until 4 p.m). We need approximately 8-10 workers for each shift. You may choose which shift or shifts you would like to work and sign up for them in the church office. In addition to working with the 1,000+ children that will come to make hats, we also have the opportunity to pass out literature about Epworth-Euclid Church as well. All Parade the Circle village craft tents are operated by nonprofit institutions located in or in close proximity to University Circle. SIGN UP FOR YOUR PREFERRED SHIFT(S) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Thank you.
