Epworth-Euclid UMW Garden Party
by Cathy Day
Thirty-two members and friends of the Epworth-Euclid United
Methodist Women attended a lovely luncheon and fundraising
event at Judson Manor on Saturday, September 29, 2007. There
was excellent music, food and fellowship as we gathered to
provide financial support for the continuing mission
programs of our UMW. The Silent Auction and Boutique items
offered “something for everyone”! Services up for bidding
included: handyman work, meal preparation, made-to-order
cakes and pies. Some of the many items for sale and for
bidding were: a beautiful hand-stitched sampler, wonderful
homemade goodies including muffins, marmalades, cookies and
breads, a hand knit shawl, afghans, a gorgeous quilt, lovely
jewelry, live plants, Cleveland Orchestra tickets, a variety
of framed artwork, exquisite glass ornaments, a hand-carved
wooden training sword, and a framed vintage Epworth-Euclid
UMC postcard. We also began our sales of the “Equal
Exchange-Fairly Traded” coffees, teas and cocoas.
Many, many thanks to all who so generously donated their
money, items, services, and time to this annual event. Our
UMW of Epworth-Euclid Church raised just over $1,000!! These
funds will be used for mission projects locally, nationally
and globally as we strive to glorify God in all we do.
